Isaiah 60

A Glorified Zion

1aArise, shine; for your blight has come,
And the cglory of the Lord has risen upon you.
2 “For behold, ddarkness will cover the earth
And deep darkness the peoples;
But the Lord will rise upon you
And His eglory will appear upon you.
3fNations will come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.

4gRaise your eyes all around and see;
They all gather together, they hcome to you.
Your sons will come from afar,
And your idaughters will be
Lit cared for
carried on the hip.
5 “Then you will see and be kradiant,
And your heart will
Lit tremble and open wide
thrill and rejoice;
Because the
Lit roar
,
nabundance of the sea will be turned to you,
The owealth of the nations will come to you.
6 “A multitude of camels will cover you,
The young camels of Midian and pEphah;
All those from qSheba will come;
They will bring rgold and frankincense,
And sproclaim good news of the praises of the Lord.
7 “All the flocks of tKedar will be gathered to you,
The rams of Nebaioth will serve you;
They will go up on My ualtar with acceptance,
And I will vglorify My glorious house.
8wWho are these who fly like a cloud
And like the doves to their windows?
9 “Certainly the xcoastlands will wait for Me;
And the yships of Tarshish will come first,
To zbring your sons from afar,
Their silver and their gold with them,
For the name of the Lord your God,
And for the Holy One of Israel because He has aaglorified you.

10abForeigners will build up your walls,
And their ackings will serve you;
For in My adwrath I struck you,
And in My favor I have had compassion on you.
11 “Your aegates will be open continually;
They will not be closed day or night,
So that people may afbring you the wealth of the nations,
With agtheir kings led in procession.
12 “For the ahnation and the kingdom which will not serve you will perish,
And the nations will be utterly ruined.
13 “The aiglory of Lebanon will come to you,
The ajjuniper, the elm tree and the
Or cypress
cedar together,
To beautify the place of My sanctuary;
And I will make the alplace of My feet glorious.
14 “The amsons of those who afflicted you will come bowing to you,
And all those who despised you will bow down at the soles of your feet;
And they will call you the ancity of the Lord,
The aoZion of the Holy One of Israel.

15 “Whereas you have been apforsaken and aqhated
With no one passing through,
I will make you an arobject of pride forever,
A joy from generation to generation.
16 “You will also assuck the milk of nations,
And suck the breast of kings;
Then you will know that I, the Lord, am your atSavior
And your auRedeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
17 “Instead of bronze I will bring gold,
And instead of iron I will bring silver,
And instead of wood, bronze,
And instead of stones, iron.
And I will make peace your administrators,
And righteousness your overseers.
18avViolence will not be heard again in your land,
Nor awdevastation or destruction within your borders;
But you will call your axwalls salvation, and your aygates praise.
19 “No longer will you have the azsun for light by day,
Nor will the moon give you light for brightness;
But you will have the baLord as an everlasting light,
And your bbGod as your
Or beauty
glory.
20 “Your bdsun will no longer set,
Nor will your moon wane;
For you will have the Lord as an everlasting light,
And the days of your bemourning will be over.
21 “Then all your bfpeople will be righteous;
They will bgpossess the land forever,
The branch of
Lit His
My planting,
The biwork of My hands,
That I may be bjglorified.
22 “The bksmallest one will become a thousand,
And the least one a mighty nation.
I, the Lord, will bring it about quickly in its time.”
